Importing

File Extraction

Having downloaded the latest archive containing all the scripts, you must now extract the files to somewhere on your local machine. Windows XP has the ability to extract files built into it. Use the 'Extract all files' option under the Folder Tasks section on the left bar or choose the option from Explorer's file menu. This will start a wizard and walk you through the steps to extract the files to a folder of your choosing.

If you don't have Windows XP or just prefer to use another tool, I recommend 7-Zip, which is a freeware tool for working with archives. Install 7-Zip and open the downloaded archive to extract the files.

Script Import

Installing the ACP is a snap. (For details on upgrading from the XL module to the new LE module or upgrading from an older LE to the latest one, please see the Upgrading page.) Assuming you have a character profile already configured for Achaea, open your profile in Offline mode to begin the import process. Importing scripts while you're connected shouldn't cause any problems, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

From the Settings menu, go to the Import sub-menu and select Import Script (ASCII). This brings up a dialog to open a file. Navigate to where you extracted the scripts and select acp_main.txt for import. If all goes well, you'll see a few messages in the MUD output window and it will tell you when the import is complete. Triggers are disabled during the import process, for safety purposes.

Within one or two seconds after the import is completed, a series of timers fires automatically to synchronize your settings and the configuration of the ACP. The script will detect any missing configuration parameters and place them in your ACPcustom folder automatically.

If you have any issues with your settings in the ACPcustom folder and would like to reset them to their defaults, simply delete the settings causing you trouble (or the entire ACPcustom folder, if you like) and repeat the import process.

You also need to import your class-specific defenses and commands before moving on with the rest of the ACP configuration and usage. Repeat the steps for importing an ASCII script, except this time go into the classes sub-folder and choose your class script file. For example, being a member of the Serpentlord class, I would import acp_serpentlord.txt to ensure that my defenses functioned smoothly.

After following the steps above to import the LE scripts, you may run the acp_setup.txt script by importing it and running the ACP_SETUP alias. To help the installation go more smoothly, you may want to jot down your three pipe numbers before executing the setup alias.
